lyrics
Conjurer of the plague
The bringer of infinite storm
Whose fog has fallen thin
Whose shadows drift and fade away
You can fool me not
By veils of such transparency
Condemned to where you guide
By weak beguile to quell the herd
I dare you to prove me wrong
Let these words rekindle your fire
It's been this way for so long
There's no end to justify
Must I die here alone?
With no one to tend to my gravestone
He whose water douses the flame
Whose tongue then curses the black of night
While his days are fading away
Closer draws the casket
With the threat of a coma unrestrained
Into the depths we dive
Divided we fall as one
I dare you to prove me wrong
Let these words rekindle your fire
It's been this way for so long
There's no end to justify
Must I die here alone?
With no one to tend to my grave stone
I stand before you now as the preacher
To cast upon you my words of a charlatan
My strength forever inhibited
A victim of the lost that control
I see the waters run red
Forever tainted with the blood of my soul
Spitting forth hypocrisy
I am my own worst enemy
Guitar Solo: Alex
I dare you to prove me wrong
Let these words rekindle your fire
It's been this way for so long
There's no end to justify

Hype is a funny thing. Usually when I hear everywhere "Dude this shit is 🔥" or even the dreaded and oft-used "AOTY!!" bullshit, I roll my eyes. And I rolled my eyes last year on the hype train for Carnosus. But again, for every thousandth breathless fanboy review I've seen, sometimes the album exceeds the expectation. So I will confidently tell you that, yes, "This shit is 🔥" as I wait for Willowtip to release that sweet Green Ghostly vinyl variant domestically 🤣 Finally a win for my wallet! bcb723
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
